Center Time

This week students are working at the overhead center (Students are working on fluency with the poem "It's Hot!" by Shel Silverstein), pocket chart center (Students are focusing on sentence structure as they build a pumpkin poem and match pictures of pumpkins to the proper describing words/adjectives), word work center (Students are reviewing vocabulary to make a poster, writing the word and it's meaning and drawing a picture to depict the word), buddy reading center (Students are reading to a partner, popcorn reading or echo reading, ABC Center (Students look for word around the room and write them down) and, Recording center (Students are practicing fluency and reading with expression by repeated reading of a familiar story.  After a few reads, I record/video students with an ipod Touch and play it back to them!...Be on the look on for the videos...Coming soon!)
